Taylor Murrey (Middlebury, VT) – Board Member
Taylor Murray, MPH, is a Public Health Specialist III at the Middlebury Local Health Office at the Vermont Department of Health. Taylor has an interest in public health nutrition, public health leadership, health equity, and health communications. She facilitates many community coalitions addressing a wide variety of topics including food security, lactation, and healthy aging. As a young health professional, she is passionate about mentoring, teaching, and supporting the new public health workforce. She brings energy and ambition to her work and is excited to be working with the VtPHA board.
Taylor received her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences (now the public health sciences program) with minors in Nutrition and Food Sciences and Behavioral Health Studies from the University of Vermont in 2020. During her undergraduate program, she interned with the VtPHA and helped to develop the communications committee. Soon after, she started working at the Vermont Department of Health as a WIC Nutrition Assistant. In 2024, she transitioned to the WIC Nutritionist and Breastfeeding Designee role. During her master’s program, she worked with the University of Vermont Weight Inclusive Nutrition Research Group to address weight inclusive practices among youth sports coaches. In 2025, after finishing her Master of Public Health in Nutrition from the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health, she started her current work as a Public Health Specialist III with a focus on chronic disease prevention work.
