Allison Friedman (Williston, VT) – Board Member
Allison Friedman is a strategic health communication leader with more than 20 years of experience translating complex science into clear, actionable messaging that supports behavior change, policy action, and systems improvement. She spent over two decades at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she led award-winning national campaigns, built cross-sector partnerships, and helped guide public health communications during the Ebola, Zika, and COVID-19 responses. Allison’s work at CDC also supported and advanced sexual and reproductive health, mental health, chronic and infectious disease prevention, and health equity, with a consistent focus on audience-centered, evidence-based programs.
Prior to CDC, she worked at the National Academy of Medicine on health communication and behavior change reports. Allison holds a Master of Science in Health and Social Behavior from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from McGill University. She also serves on the Board of the KidSafe Coalition.
Originally from the Northeast, Allison moved to Vermont to be closer to family, community, and nature. She lives in Williston with her husband, Andrew, and their son, Hudson.
