Learning to Treat COVID-19: Clinical Trials and Developing Therapeutics During a Pandemic

The tenth COVID-19 Conversations webinar will discuss how scientists are learning to treat COVID-19 during a pandemic, including presentations on how scientists have adapted clinical trials to respond to the restrictions and requirements of a pandemic response; best practices in clinical care for those with COVID-19 right now; and promising therapeutics and preventive drugs currently enrolled in clinical trials globally.

The webinar will begin with an introduction from the session's moderator, Carlos del Rio, co-chair of the COVID-19 Conversations advisory group, and then feature presentations from a panel of experts, including: 

  • Judith Currier - Professor of Medicine, UCLA Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine Division Chief, Infectious Diseases Associate Director, UCLA Clinical AIDS Research and Education (CARE) Center
  • Rajesh Gandhi - Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School; Director of HIV Clinical Services and Education, Massachusetts General Hospital
  • Myron Cohen - University of North Carolina Yeargan-Bate Distinguished Professor of Medicine, Microbiology and Immunology, and Epidemiology, and Director of the UNC Institute for Global Health & Infectious Diseases

The panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A session with the webinar audience.

This webinar has also been approved for 1.5 continuing education credits for CPH, CME, CNE or CHES. Several days after attending the webinar, those who watched the entire activity will receive an email with info on how to complete the online evaluation and then claim their credits.
