In celebration of National Public Health Week (April 7–13, 2025), the Vermont Public Health Association is hosting an event for college students! Here’s what you need to know:

Purpose and Objectives:
- Network with state legislators and other public health professionals
- Share your ideas on the public health issues you care about
- Learn how to advocate for change and make your voice heard
Agenda Highlights:
- 11:00-11:45: Panel Discussion: The event will start with a discussion on National Public Health Week, highlighting its significance. Panelists will offer practical advice on advocacy and lobbying, helping participants feel confident when engaging with legislators. Panelists will include:
- Jayna Ahsaf, Campaign Director, Free Her Vermont
- Megan Fuerst, Legislative Appropriations Monitor, Action Circles
- Sarah Kelleher, UVM ’25, Legislative Intern
- Johanna Miller, Energy + Climate Program Director and VECAN Coordinator, Vermont Natural Resources Council
- Daniel Olson, Executive Director, Vermont Public Health Association
- 11:45-12:15: Lunch and Discussion, Legislators Arriving After 12:00pm: Join us for pizza, salad, and cookies while networking with other students and legislators.
- 12:15-12:55: Student and Legislator Roundtable Discussion: Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and share concerns with Vermont state legislators on topics of interest.
