2021 APHA Annual Meeting and Expo

Creating the Healthiest Nation: Strengthening Social Connectedness

    Registration is now open!

    Date: OCT 24 2021, 1:00 PM - OCT 27 2021, 5:30 PM EST

From increases in substance misuse and suicide, to reduced quality of life among older adults, the impacts of widespread social isolation are all around us. Public health policies and practices can help counter social isolation by strengthening social cohesion and connectedness. And we can showcase examples and stories that bring attention to hopefulness and connected communities and families to counteract isolation and despair. The time is ripe to highlight communities and initiatives across the country working to restore belonging, trust and connectedness and the emerging research and findings of how public health — working alongside other key sectors — can contribute to environments where healing, hopefulness and aspiration can grow.

APHA 2021 will allow attendees to participate in-person at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver or virtually from anywhere in the world. Registration fees for each experience are different, with multiple attendee categories to choose from. We encourage you to register by the Early-Bird Deadline for the best rate. A limited number of scholarships are offered by APHA member groups.

    • The Flynn

People from across every corner of the earth watched with disbelief as George Floyd was murdered with a knee on his neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds. "I cannot breathe," he screamed. This became an international call for people of all backgrounds to unite in the effort to change systemic racism wherever it exists.

The Greater Burlington Multicultural Resource Center is pleased to present Philonise Floyd (brother of George Floyd) and a community panel in an evening of reflection.
