Partner and Funder Highlight: the New England Public Health Training Center

Jun 3, 2026 | Education, Partner Spotlight

VtPHA would like to take a moment to shine a spotlight on one of our oldest partners – the New England Public Health Training Center (NEPHTC).

If you’re unfamiliar with their good work, NEPHTC is one of ten training centers across the country operating under the Public Health Training Center Network umbrella, a consortium focused on creating comprehensive resources for public health workforce development.

Tricia Janulewicz Lloyd, NEPHTC’s Co-Principal Investigator and Director of NEPHTC at Boston University (also Professor and Chair of the Urban Public Health department at the University of Massachusetts Boston), and her staff (special shout out to Candice Bangham!) have been a VtPHA thought partner, funder, and collaborator for years.

They have supported all aspects of our educational programming. From Annual Meeting panels such as last month’s “Meeting the Moment: Strengthening Regional and Local Networks for Public Health Resilience,” to monthly Lunch-and Learns, Vaccine Coalition Meetings, and Public Health Caucus sessions, NEPHTC funding enables VtPHA to help Vermont’s public health professionals stay up-to-date and informed in our rapidly evolving field.

Vermonters need the Public Health Training Center Network. We need our partners at NEPHTC. Please join us in recognizing their critical role in public health education.
