Reproductive Health

The Vermont Public Health Association believes that all women should have access to a system of reproductive health services that is accessible, affordable, comprehensive and of high quality. Full access to these services should not be jeopardized by the public political, moral, and religious-based debates on the availability and affordability of quality reproductive health services for women.

VtPHA supports initiatives that promote the following:

All women have access to this high quality system, regardless of ability to pay
A comprehensive system of health insurance which assures access to the full spectrum of women’s reproductive services
Statewide clinical services system (public and private) that offers comprehensive reproductive health services
A statewide system of educational services that provide women and their partners/families with information about their rights and available services
Policies and services that strengthen the social and medical health systems designed to support adolescents and reduce adolescent pregnancy and STI rates

About the association

VtPHA is a membership organization which facilitates collaboration among people who care about public health and are interested in protecting and promoting the health of Vermont residents.

VtPHA is an Affiliate of the American Public Health Association (APHA). APHA is the national voice of public health and champions the health of all people and all communities. They are the only organization that combines a 140-plus year perspective, the ability to influence federal policy to improve the public’s health and a member community from all public health disciplines and over 40 countries.
